Business owners plan to play 'financial catch-up' over festive period

As the festive season approaches, a recent survey has suggested that nearly half of small business owners are planning to use the time to catch up on outstanding financial tasks.

In all, 58% of business bosses believe that they may have to put in additional hours from home during the festive break, with 47% reporting that they will be bringing their books up to date.

41% revealed that they expect to spend between one and two days dealing with financial jobs they do not have time to address during the rest of the year.

The study also revealed that a higher percentage of women expect to put in extra time over Christmas, with 56% planning to play financial catch-up compared with 38% of men.
